WEATHER

There are three distinctive weather zones in Andalucia; the classic Mediterranean climate of the coastal zone (where the villa is located), the very hot inland lowland zone (around Sevilla) and the cooler and wetter inland highland zone (around Granada).

The coastal zone boasts hot summers, with sunbathing almost every day from June to September, with virtually no rain, daily highs about 35c and nightly lows around 15c with relatively low humidity. Warm evenings allow outdoor dining most nights. The mild and pleasant winters boast a mixture of beautiful clear, warm sunny days with overcast and cooler or wetter days. First rains are late September or early October, and rarely last more than a day or two usually clearing during the day to allow outdoor activities to recommence. Winter daily highs about 20c and nightly lows rarely much below 10c.

Historic weather statistics show that on average the sun shines for rarely less than 23 days per month (over 300 days per year) and usually for at least six hours per day even in the winter months. March and November are the wettest months with on average seven rainy days with January, March, November and December being the least sunny.
